About Us
A place where connection, community, and purpose come together, offering men a welcoming space to share skills, stories, support, friendships, and lifelong learning.
Who We Are
Cardinia Men’s Shed is a not-for-profit organisation established in 2010 to support the health and wellbeing of men across the Cardinia Shire. Run by a dedicated volunteer committee, the Shed offers a safe, inclusive, and friendly environment where men can socialise, share skills, and stay connected to their community.
We run a range of specialist interest groups and activities to suit all backgrounds and abilities. Whether you’re hands-on or just up for a chat, there’s something here for you.
It’s not just about making things — it’s about making mates.
Our Purpose
The primary purpose of the Men’s Shed is to support the older males in the community by providing and involving them in a variety of activities. We hope this will have a positive effect on their health and provide them with support should they suffer health issues. In addition, we mentor youth through programs like “The Couch Project.” Besides, our woodwork classes at the Shed are open on Thursdays to women who want to hone their woodworking skills.
The Shed is very community focused and seeks to assist where possible. We also have guest speakers come in on a regular basis to discuss important topics like health and senior services, as well as in other areas of interest.
The Shed also offers other opportunities such as day trips to places where our members have shown sufficient interest, this includes Men’s Sheds in other areas.
Why It Matters
Men’s Sheds play a vital role in supporting mental health, especially among older or retired men. At Cardinia Men’s Shed, we aim to:
Whether you’re looking to build something, learn a new skill, or just enjoy some company — you’ll find a place here.

Community Event of the Year 2023
Cardinia Men’s Shed was proud to receive the 2023 Community Event of the Year award for our Senior-tivity Day.
Held in October 2022, the event supported older residents in reconnecting after COVID isolation by showcasing local groups like the Pakenham Purls, Probus, and others. With food, friendly faces, and a strong turnout, the day helped boost community engagement and encouraged seniors to rejoin local activities — reflecting our mission to support connection, wellbeing, and active ageing.
